Benefits of Fayda
Fayda ID is a foundation digital ID led by the National ID Program that is being implemented in accordance with the Ethiopian Digital ID Proclamation No. 1284/2023. As per Article 16 (1) of this proclamation, Fayda's ID shall be considered as legal and sufficient proof of identity. Therefore, residents can access the following services with Fayda ID.
Services in financial and telecom institutions
- Opening bank accounts and withdraw money
- To list cheques and similar documents and to access related services
- To obtain a SIM card
- To obtain internet service and other similar telecom services
- To access the services of microfinance institutions
Government services
- To obtain a new and renewed driving license
- To get registered for driver learning services
- To obtain, renew and cancel new business licenses or investment licenses for local investors
- To access services from courts, judicial offices and law enforcement agencies
- To access occupational license services provided by the Ministry of Health and regional and city administration
- To obtain services related with title deed issuance and renewal, construction permits issued by land management institutions
- To obtain, renew and cancel a Medicine import license at the Drug Control Authority Office
- To obtain, renew and cancel a construction profession license issued by the Ethiopian Construction Authority
- To obtain, renew and cancel tour guide and operator licenses issued by the Ethiopian Tourism Authority
- To obtain legal services provided by the Ministry of Justice and Justice Offices
- To obtain, renew and cancel coffee export license
- To register a civic society organization
